This year, Wednesday, November 16, is Give to the MAX Day in Minnesota. Between midnight on November 16 and midnight on November 17, 2011 you can support the nonprofit organizations and causes you care about at GiveMN.org
I hope you will join me in donating generously to the Organic Field School this year. (Disclosure: I serve on the board). Based at Gardens of Eagan, an organic farm near Farmington, MN, the 501(c) 3 non-profit Organic Field School serves people who grow organic produce and people who eat it. OFS offers hands-on workshops and trainings in the areas of production, marketing, and farm management, as well as demonstrations, and on-farm tours. One of the things that sets us apart is our commitment to helping experienced—not just beginning—farmers get even better at what they do. We're also working on creating internships and a farm incubator program, to help new farmers get started.
More (and more successful) organic farms means more organic farmers and more fresh, flavorful, local organic produce for the eaters who enjoy it. Isn't that an effort you can get behind?
You can make your 100% tax deductible donation online, where nearly every penny (all but a very low 2.9% credit card processing fee) goes directly to support OFS's work. And this year, the Wedge Cooperative is generously matching up to $5,000 in donations during this special Give to the Max event!
Please spread the word to other organic food and farming supporters. THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Linda Halley, President
