Jeff Woodward has been one of the backbones of the Wedge Classroom since the 1990s. In fact, Jeff was instrumental in getting the classroom kitchen designed and equipped. He used his extensive contacts in the local food community to help the co-op get top quality equipment at very low cost.
Originally trained in French cuisine, the style of Jeff's cooking has varied over the decades. He was part of a movement of classically trained chefs across the nation who took interest in the emerging natural/whole food movement back in the 70s. They brought their understanding of cooking methods to the unfamiliar grains, beans and vegetables that started showing up in food co-ops at the time.
What has not changed over the years is Jeff's commitment to using the highest quality organic produce, grains, beans and animal foods that he can find. While his teaching style is entertaining and fun (he has a theater background) his cooking style is minimalist. He uses the best ingredients with simple cooking methods so the food is always the star.
Jeff has a full series of classes in September and October at the Wedge. Don't miss a chance to learn from one of the best!
