An Evening with Alaffia

The Wedge Community Co-op is honored to host the owner and founder of Alaffia (one of our favorite body care lines). Allafia, a Certified Fair Trade organization, works to advance gender equality and alleviate poverty in Togo, West Africa through the fair trade of indigenous resources and traditional knowledge. Olowo-n'djo Tchala, co-founder of Alaffia, and several leaders from Togo will visit our market and cafe to share their experiences. Please join us to learn about the inspirational people of Alaffia.

Intro to Soap Making

Learn soap making from one of the Twin City's most popular soap vendors! In this demonstration class, students will be shown soap making using the cold-process method. Each student will receive an instructional manual and 5 bars of soap ($25 value).

Come together and connect! Join us for happy hour at the Wedge Table. These events have no formal agenda. Simply show up and get to know other co-op owners, Wedge staff and our nonprofit Change Matters partners.

Each person in attendance will receive one free drink and be able to snack on new products from the store.

We will host these happy hours on a quarterly basis, the next ones will be: June 28th, October 4th, January 12th.

Kombucha with Bryan Bertsch of Deane's Kombucha

This 90 minute class includes instruction on how to brew your own great tasting Kombucha at home. Learn the first fermentation process, which yields a great basic Kombucha, ready to drink on its own. Exploe the nuances of the second fermentation and confidently add your own flavors to bring a unique taste and sparkling effervescence to each bottle.

Each student will receive a study guide with simple instructions plus a starter culture to begin your Kombucha adventure right away.

This class will include samplings of several different varieties of Kombucha. Be ready to quench your Kombucha thirst and get all your Kombucha questions answered!

Drum Making Workshop

According to Wayne, making your own drum is a journey you will remember for the rest of your life. Using a wooden frame and a deer hide Wayne will lead you through the process.
