Join us for an evening with Sean Sherman (The Sioux Chef). Sean has been revitalizing indigenous foods systems in a modern culinary context for years. According to a recent New York Times article, his style is 'colorful and elegant, with roots in fine dining and ancestral cooking.' He uses 'a mix of cultivated and wild regional ingredients' rather than 'the government-issued commodities that replaced many native foods on reservations more than a century ago.'

Hear about his efforts to educate and make indigenous food more accessible to as many communities as possible.

Sean will demonstrate how to cook Cedar Braised Bison, Roasted Squash, and Dried Cranbapples with Rose Hip Sauce and Cedar Maple Tea.

Join us for an evening with Rashmi Bhattachan and Sarala Kattel of Gorkha Palace. Located in Northeast Minneapolis Gorkha Palace serves an eclectic range of authentic Nepali, Indian and Tibetan cuisine. Last year they received the Mpls St. Paul Magazine Readers' Choice Award for the BEST Indian Restaurant. In addition to sourcing locally and being one of the greenest restaurants in the Twin Cities, more than 90% of their ingredients are organic.

They will demonstrate how to cook Chicken Curry, Hariyo Saag (bitter greens with spinach), Daal, and Rice. Following the demonstration everyone will get to enjoy the meal.
