Marla Emery's research examines the everyday practices of wild vegetable gathering by Hmong Americans in the Upper Midwest, drawing on results of focus groups conducted in the Hmong language in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and the greater Twin Cities. Her collaborators in this research are Michele Schermann, University of Minnesota and David Bengston, US Forest Service, Minnesota.
