How We Think About Food Nowadays

Here at the Wedge, we've been obsessed with food since 1974. Back then, most public discussion of food was directed at homemakers or "gourmets," and meant recipes or The Four Food Groups. Today, everything seems to have a food angle, from the environment and health care to education, ethics and international trade policy.

While more people are focusing on the important role food plays in our lives, the way we are talking about food can also be confusing. Conflicting studies and claims about the benefits of various diets can leave people unsure how to eat.

We take a different approach: Eating should be a pleasure, meals should be relaxing. Good food eaten in a calm manner will be "good for you" without screaming it from every mouthful.

Our web site includes articles about our suppliers, links to thoughtful sites that discuss food topics and of course, recipes. Our members want information and full disclosure about the food we sell.

Our collection of "What's for Supper?" recipes were written for our weekly demo program. They were designed to get delicious meals on the table quickly, without sacrificing quality or flavor.
