Our Ever-Expanding Selection of Raw Foods

Share

In addition to the bounty of raw organic fruits and vegetables available in produce, The Wedge offers a growing selection of prepared raw foods.

Raw-food or live-food folks prepare fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds, and grains using fermentation, sprouting, juicing, and dehydration; but raw foods are never heated beyond a range between 110 to 116 degrees Fahrenheit in order to preserve the foods' vitamins and enzymes.

We can only sing the praises of bars, cookies, granolas, and seed mixes from Go Raw; crackers, bars, and cereals from Lydia's Organics; dried organic fruits, organic raw chocolate powder, and organic raw chocolate (cocoa) pieces from The Raw Choice. The list continues with a plethora of tasty organic products such as chocolate syrup, cocoa, fruit and nut spreads, and pestos from Living Tree Community Foods.

Chocolate Ecstasy or Pistachio Pesto anyone? Artisana's offerings include: raw coconut butter, a raw chocolate coconut butter appropriately called Chocolate Bliss. Don't miss raw Himalayan and Wild Forest honeys from Heavenly Organics.

In the refrigerated case look for fine fermented raw foods from Powerkraut, Angelica's Garden, and Yon's Foods; then continue on to the beverage cooler for some refreshing, naturally-effervescent organic raw kombucha beverages from Unpeeled and GT's Kombucha.
