This is the special season when Copper River Salmon is fresh-caught. The Copper River Salmon season runs from May into June, with exact dates up to the salmon. Outside of this short season, all Copper River Salmon products have been previously frozen, which is not a bad thing – it's just not quite the same as fresh.
The Copper River scores high on the Marine Stewardship Council's three basic principles:
The Copper River, in south-central Alaska, is 300 miles long. Because the fish must traverse this great length they are hardy and rich in stored Omega-3 fatty acids. Good for the brain. Good for the heart. Amazing for the tongue.
