Selections from Local Artisans

Share

The Health and Body Care Dept. is currently exhibiting beautiful selections of locally crafted hand blown glass, ceramic pottery, handmade hats, and greeting cards.

Purchasing unique, one of a kind items "puts our money towards supporting local artists," said Shannon Nixon, general merchandise purchaser for the store.

Look for products crafted by the Sisters of St. Benedict of Monastic Enterprises Arts/Crafts located in St. Joseph. Combining resources, recycled materials are used to create pottery, paper and cards. Peter Jadoonth's pottery is functionally useful (dishwasher and microwave safe) and is made from stoneware clay. Check out Alley Cat Hats made by Luci Daum, Andrew Thompson's hand blown vases, glasses and bowls, as well as pottery by Jim Alworth and Steve Lloyd, and Jane Evershed's greeting cards.

Selections and artists will vary seasonally.
