I contacted The Ginger People regarding their ginger. Here is there response:

Thank you for contacting The Ginger People regarding consumer inquiries about our award-winning line of ginger products. Our ginger is grown in areas not subject to aldicarb sulfoxide pesticide exposure. In addition, a significant amount of our fresh ginger is certified organic by the USDA/NOP (United States Department of Agriculture/ National Organic Program). Our ginger is also Encocert - certified organic for the EU market.

All our ginger is grown on our contracted farms and we have traceability systems to control the quality of our product. We audit our contracted farms regularly. Further, food safety testing is conducted on all ginger shipments, ensuring our ginger is pesticide-free.

Independent pesticide residuals analysis are also conducted on our ginger by the SGS, a globally recognized third party inspection institute.

This is something that I have considered/will continue to consider when purchasing flowers. Unfortunately, organic and fair trade flowers from South America are virtually non-existent at this time. There are some "socially-conscious" companies whose flowers we sell. Look for carnations or mums with Florverde on the wrapper. If you have internet access, please research www.colibriflowers.com or www.florverde.org. I will continue to search for more options for flowers from South America. In addition, many of our flowers are locally-grown in Plymouth, MN at Len Busch Roses. Thank you for your concern!

We are happy to provide such services. Thanks for the praise.
