Spring Cleaning at the Wedge Website

Share

A bit of reorganizing is underway this spring at www.wedge.coop, with added features and some easier paths to get where you want to go.

As you probably know, the Wedge website acts as an online news source to keep you up to the minute on happenings at your co-op. The website features new stories and links of interest every two weeks, with minor updates weekly, even daily. Some stories in At the Wedge appear on the website, even before the current issue comes out. We also feature newsletter stories and recipes from past issues that you may have missed.

Here are some new and improved features you might want to take a look at:

Slideshow and "Features": On the home page, you'll now find a slideshow that highlights and rotates through three featured stories. You can click straight through to the story from the slideshow.

You'll also find a section called "Features" in the upper right corner of the home page, which allows you to launch into some of the more popular parts of the site, like Recipes, Classes, Monthly Specials and the Deli Hot Table Menu. You can also get to Wedge Worldwide from "Features."

In the "What's in Store" section, you'll now find a second home page, that collects Wedge-specific information in one place. From here you can view:

Customer Service Staff Picks and Hints (Monthly): The Wedge Customer Service staff sees and hears all. They know what Wedge members and shoppers are asking for, so we're tapping their knowledge for tips and hints about items in every aisle of the store.

HBC Staff Picks (Monthly): Health and Body Care is a veritable smorgasbord of lotions, potions, soaps and body care products. Find out what the staff likes best.

This Week in Produce (Weekly): Formerly called "Fresh from the Farm," this weekly feature isn't just about the local season anymore. Now you can find out when the best peaches from Colorado arrive, as well as when the Diffleys' corn appears in our store. "This Week in Produce" is updated every Friday by Mandy of the Produce Department.

The "home pages" of various departments will contain live content now, too. For example, on the Grocery page you can find a new article by our Grocery Purchasing Manager Fern about a product of particular interest. Did you read her article about Fair Trade olive oil? It was a great one!

Tradition

Some website features won't change, of course, like our barrage of recipes. You can still be the first to read the new What's for Supper? recipes from Jennette Turner, posted on www.wedge.coop the first of every month. Our recipe database of delicious, healthful dishes will continue to grow in the coming weeks.

You'll also continue to get great advice, product highlights and recipes from Katie of HBC in her monthly columns about herbs and personal care. Not to miss!

One last reminder... when you sign up for Wedge Action Alerts (look for the link on the home page), you'll receive timely information about events, political action and important news involving your co-op. Also, you can save a tree and read At the Wedge online by electing to receive an email reminder when the newsletter is available on the Wedge website.
