Stepping Lightly on the Earth

Co-op members already work so many earth-friendly habits into their lives that a list of ways to "go green" seems like preaching to the choir. Here are a few ways you can help your co-op go even greener.

Get At the Wedge electronically instead of on paper.

There are three ways to do this:

  1. Yourself. Go to our homepage www.wedge.coop and click on the word Membership along the top. Once on the Membership page, click on "Changing your preferences" in the left hand column. You have several choices regarding mailed newsletters.
  2. In person. Stop by the Customer Service Desk and tell them you would like to get a link to the pdf of At the Wedge. They will take your information and we will make the change in your membership file.
  3. By email. Send an email to membership@wedge.coop with your member number and a note about getting At the Wedge electronically instead of via snail mail.

* This will also save your co-op printing and mailing costs, which ultimately means that it saves you printing and mailing costs.

Reduce Plastic Use by Bringing Bags

Buy a few reusable bags to keep in your car. Hang them on your doorknob after unpacking the groceries, so you remember to put them back in the car next time you leave the house. The Wedge now sells sturdy recyclable plastic bags for 90 cents. One bag can replace approximately 800 single-use bags. They feel, look and wash up like cloth.
