You've heard of Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis and Parkinson's. Have you heard of Celiac Disease? Celiac Disease affects more people than all these disorders combined. Celiac disease, also known as celiac sprue or gluten enteropathy, is intolerance to gluten, which is a protein found in all forms of wheat, rye and barley. The good news is that the treatment for Celiac Disease is a 100% gluten-free diet.

Once diagnosed, people with celiac disease receive very little instruction on the gluten-free diet. Trying to learn on your own can lead to consuming gluten by mistake and delaying recovery.

The Twin Cities Celiac Support Group is here to help.

The mission of Twin Cities Celiac Support Group is to offer support and education to those newly diagnosed as well as those currently maintaining a gluten-free lifestyle.

The Twin Cities Celiac Support Group (TCCSG) strives to increase general public awareness of Celiac Disease and to provide the health care community with a greater understanding of the needs of celiac patients.

Meetings will be held to share recipes, ideas and knowledge to help individuals and families understand Celiac Disease/Gluten Intolerance and enjoy being gluten free!

We welcome everyone to attend whether you're a Celiac, family member, friend, or someone wanting to learn more. Our meetings will be informative, supportive and fun. Gluten-free goodies will be provided. A meeting is currently being planned for August. Please check the website soon for exact details. I look forward to meeting you.
