Financial Report

Thank you everyone for making this year another record-breaking year at the Wedge Co-op. Our fiscal year ended June 30, 2006. Preliminary figures show that sales at the store were over 27.3 million. Sales at our warehouse were over 8.7 million. Combined, our 12,000+ members own a business with sales of over 36 million dollars a year. Congratulations!

During this fiscal year, we had an average of 2,562 shoppers per day, 126 more than the previous year. Shoppers spent an average of $29.36 per trip, compared to $28.57 last year. Since I am writing this in the first week of July, I don't have many more details about the year's finances to share yet. I do know that we were profitable, and that our business is financially sound and stable. I expect that the Board will be able to declare a substantial patronage refund (which we plan to distribute in November). Stay tuned to this space for more information about the last fiscal year in the next issue. In the meantime, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, keep cool, and I'll see you at the State Fair.
