As I write this, the first kale from Gardens of Eagan (your very own farm!) is in the produce rack. Cucumbers are due next week, and the rest of the awesome crops that we have come to look forward to are on their way. Hats off to Linda and her crew for a strong start! We plan to hold our Annual Membership Meeting at the farm again this year, so watch for details posted in the store, and published on our website and in the October issue of At the Wedge. We will again provide bus transportation from the store and serve light refreshments.

I urge you all to stop by our website to keep in touch with what is going on at the Wedge. See what's new with our farmers and producers, and read about the latest issues affecting our industry. We have retooled the home page to make it easier to read. We update the site on the first and the fifteenth of each month, and when news breaks. Our writing staff covers a wide variety of topics—articles, recipes, price specials, and more. We link to farmer blogs, and include great stories about local restaurants that, like our co-op, support area farmers. (Check out the story about Common Roots cafe on Lyndale Avenue.)

We're all experiencing déjà vu with the latest round of flooding to the south of us. It seems like only yesterday we were scrambling to help our farmers in their time of need last fall. They need us again. We are taking donations, so check out our website or speak to the folks at the customer service counter or checkstands about this opportunity to help.

Don't forget to visit us at the Eco Experience at the State Fair this summer. You'll have a chance to talk to some of your favorite farmers, pick up new farmer cards and see all of your Wedge friends. This will be our third and final year at the Fair, so come and see the new and exciting things going on in our area.

I hope you are all enjoying the summer and wonderful seasonal food, great days in the city, at the lake or exploring the countryside. I can hardly wait for the sweet corn!!
