Answers to Some Frequently-Asked Questions

In early November, when construction on the parking lot and demolition of the building on the expansion site began, we started getting a fresh wave of questions about this project and our plans. Here are answers to a couple of frequently-asked questions:

City code requires us to have a certain number of parking spaces per square foot of retail space. In order to meet these requirements, we had to cut down the trees (many of which were planted by the Wedge 4 years ago). We will be planting new trees and intensively landscaping the parking lot next spring.

When we start building the addition, we won't be using pile-drivers to put in the foundation. We're using an alternative building technique, drilling holes and filling them with concrete, that's much less noisy.

Sorry, no. If we had a sit-and-eat space, the city would require us to add even more parking.

Yes. If you have suggestions about classes you'd like to see or know people who might be interested in teaching, please contact the Wedge business office at 874-7275.
