Happy Holidays from The Wedge!

The holidays are upon us! What better time to get a sneak peak at great gift ideas that will be showing up at The Wedge. For children, you'll see fun, eco-friendly, lead free toys. We'll have items from companies such as: HABA, who use naturally antiseptic woods for the cutest critters; Imagi-play, who use fallen trees to create fun, fair trade animals and puzzles; and North Star Toys, a family run business that uses sustainable woods for their made-in-America crafts. Also, watch for the always adorable baby clothes from Sckoon and Speesees. Organic cotton onesies and booties and organic stuffed animals never looked so cute! We will also being carrying ANTZ Imports, a fair trade company, knitting some of the cutest sweaters and ponchos around. Another fair trade company, Serrv, has musical instruments, global mobiles and decorative tree ornaments for every household.

We never know exactly how cold our winters will be, but we guarantee a variety of winter wear. On display now are hats and mittens from 100% wool created by local artists and fair trade alpaca scarves, hats, mittens, puppets, socks, adult ponchos, sweaters and leg warmers from Andes Gifts and Artesania. Our luxurious hand-embroidered pashmina scarves from India are perfect for any holiday party or get together. A variety of totes, purses and backpacks made from a variety of materials such as hemp, silk, recycled billboard signs, and eco-friendly plastic will be arriving soon.

Some staples to look for around the store: pure soy, palm wax and beeswax candles; the ever popular Kotobuki pottery; cast iron teapots; the new styles of scarves from Cocoon House; the funky hats of local artist Luci Daum; the hypnotizing incenses, soaps and teas from the Pacific Northwest brought to you by Juniper Ridge; and books for the mind, body and stomach.
