You used to carry a stoneground cracker that was like a saltine. Where are they?
I wonder if you mean the Red Oval Stoned Wheat Thins? This company was bought out by Nabisco who is no longer servicing individual stores- or taking new accounts. Unfortunately, only bigger chains who are able to buy truck loads will be able to offer this product.
Where do you announce tastings so we can show up?
Customer service has a calendar. However, sometimes we have to change a demo due to circumstances beyond our control. Thanks for asking!
Are the hemp bags fair trade?
Good question! Yes they are. You can visit their website to read about their mission: www.ecolution.com
I'd love to see Rejuventive Foods Almond Butter back for sale here!
Rejuventive Foods Almond Butters are not available from our distribution company. They picked up the sauerkraut and kimchis, but not the almond butter. We do offer an almond butter in packaged grocery and bulk grocery. If our distribution company picks up the nut butters, we will try to find a space for them.
Hey, Living Waters Gardens grows great hydro cucumbers. Get them! So good and crisp and way cheaper and local!
Living Waters does not have enough supply to meet every co-op's needs. We have talked with them and I don't believe at this time they are planning on producing more quantity on this item due to space and cost analysis. They will keep in mind we are interested though. Thank you for your comment.
Where are the Jalapeno pita chips by Cedar? Haven't seen them for a while!
Charlie (our Cedar's delivery guy) says this product has been out of stock from the home "office" - once he gets his shipment, so will we.
Please add another sugar-free breakfast cereal box to the shelf.
We carry the sugar-free cereals currently available to us from our distributors. That would be Nature's Path Puffed cereals and the three cereals from Barbara's (O's, cornflakes, rice crisps) which are fruit juice sweetened.
You have the best hummus in your deli. Don't change the recipe ever.
Thanks for your positive feedback on the deli hummus. We're glad you're enjoying it!
Please consider stocking amaranth grain. You might place it in a jar alongside the sprouting seeds and specialty flours rather than devote a dispensing bin to it.
We would not be able to bring it in for a dispensing bin, but maybe in a jar by the sprouting seeds. I will bring it in when time permits (within a few weeks).
I was warned by the cashier that the paper bag handles might break. I was still disappointed and want a change for the co-op.
Sometimes the handles do break and I apologize if this has happened to you. We try to distribute weight evenly to prevet handle breakage, but it does still happen sometimes. We are doing our best to work with these new bags because we feel it is the right thing to do environmentally.
Would you please try to find a different container for the pre-packed deli items that have smooth sides (not ribbed) because I fnd that I can not get the rest of the food from in between the ribs.
Thank you for your concern regarding the new deli containers. I would like to take this opportunity to address those concerns, and explain why we made this switch. Some members have expressed frustration at the ridges in the new containers, feeling food gets caight in them and it's more difficult to clean them. Honestly, we aren't in love with the ridges, either.
First, the new deli containers are #1 plastic containers versus the old ones which were #3. Not sure what those numbers on the bottoms of you plastic containers mean? They are codes for the common types of plastics used for recycling. Some communities recycle #1 containers. Unfortunately, ours does not. It is our hope that at some point, these containers will become recyclable. While they are not recyclable, to our knowledge, the plastic used in #1 containers is less carcinogenic than the #3 variety.
Secondly, when sealed correctly, the new deli containers don't leak. The old ones did not hold liquid well at all. For instance, when we used the old containers to pack olives, brine leaked all over the shelves and sometimes onto shoppers!
If we are able to find another container that meets this criteria, is affordable and doesn't have ridges, we will definitely consider switching.
