Using Your Ownership

Tips to help you get the most out of your co-op ownership.

Owner Number

Use your owner number every time you shop so all your purchases are recorded. (We can look up your number if you forget.) Using your owner number is good for you and good for the co-op.

If you shop at the other co-ops in the Twin Cities Natural Food Co-ops association, be sure to mention that you are a Wedge Co-op owner. When you mention your ownership at the Wedge with a reciprocal co-op, they will enter the Wedge owner number on your purchase. If you buy any of their owner specials or sign up for a class, you will receive the owner price.

Owner Discounts

These can save you as much as $45 every year you are an owner. You decide when to use your discount.

On the first day of each month, our cash registers will recognize a 10% discount of up to $3.75 on purchases. You can use it all at once on a large purchase or take a 10% off several shopping trips until it is used - good for people who shop frequently for small purchases. If you buy $10 of product on your first shopping trip in a month and use the discount for $1.00 off the purchase, the remaining $2.75 discount remains available for the next shopping trip, and so on.

Unused discounts accumulate until the end of business on the last day of the fiscal year, June 30. Any unused discounts left at that time expire.

Owner Specials

Each month, selected products have special prices for owners only. They are listed on a monthly flyer at the Customer Service Counter and on shelf signs near the products.

Patronage Refunds

In profitable years the co-op may distribute profit back to the owners. Watch the fall and winter issues of the Wedge Newsletter for information every year. We have sent a patronage refund to Wedge owners every year since 1989.

Classes & Events

A variety of classes and community events are offered at our Wedge Table classroom. You also receive the owner price if you take a class at any of the Twin Cities reciprocal co-ops.

Special Orders

Pre-order full bags or cases of product for a 10% owner discount. You may also order some products the Wedge does not normally carry. Staff at the Customer Service Counter have the information.

Deli special orders need to be placed 48 hours before you want to pick up the product. These orders are placed at the Deli.

Special orders for Health and Body Care, books and General Merchandise (non-food) products are placed at the desk in Aisle Six. These orders may require a non-refundable deposit.

CAP: Co-op Affordability Project Discount

Wedge owners currently enrolled in WIC, SNAP, SSDI/SSI, Section 8 Housing, Refugee Cash Assistance, Medical Assistance (Medicaid), or Minnesota Care are eligible for a 10% everyday discount through our Co-op Affordability Project.
